Air Moldova announced it would be able to operate some of the flights it canceled earlier due to financial strain.

These will be the round-trip flights to Bologna on April 23, Tbilisi on April 24, and Verona on April 25.

“Our team continues to work hard to manage the situation. Every flight operated or restored is due to a colossal effort. Next week, the Air Moldova administration will negotiate with potential investors an action plan to overcome the company’s difficulties”, the airline said in a press release.

On Friday, Air Moldova announced it was cancelling all of its flights until April 25.

In reaction, the Civil Aviation Authority said it was launching a probe. “The Civil Aviation Authority has repeatedly warned about the serious financial deficiencies of the airline. In this regard, as early as November 2022, the airline was requested to present a corrective action plan towards remedying its precarious financial situation. However, instead of presenting concrete remedial actions, the airline challenged all the findings of our inspections and went to court to request their cancellation. For failure comply with the Authority’s instructions, a contravention sanction was imposed on the airline, and additionally a new inspection prescription was issued”, said the Civil Aviation Authority.

The passengers whose flights have been canceled can call the Authority’s consumer helpline on (022) 823583 or file claims online.
