“I think the process of forming a center-right alliance has started today,” political analyst Anatol Taranu said, when asked by Info-Prim Neo to comment on the trilateral meeting involving the PLDM, PDM and PL held on December 8.
The analyst said the statements made by the three leaders for the press were general and did not reveal many things. “They realize that it is dangerous to elaborate,” Anatol Taranu said.
He expressed his optimism about the restoration of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) that included the PLDM, PDM and PL, stressing that the second trilateral meeting will represent the next main step.
In the first meeting, the parties discussed for about two hours and said after it that the dialogue was constructive. After the meeting, the president of the PL Mihai Ghimpu said they conferred on the possibility of constituting a democratic government and on Moldova's chances of becoming part of the EU. The Democrat leader Marian Lupu reiterated that they signed no agreement with a possible coalition partner and that the PDM remains on a neural position. The leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat stressed that the trilateral dialogue was a difficult, but necessary step.
The next trilateral meeting is set to take place on December 10.
