The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) say they are ready to convene more parliamentary sittings in order to implement the government program and adopt a package of laws that are needed by Moldova. After the November 30 meeting of the AEI Council, they announced that a decision as regards the presidential elections will be made public later, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”We discussed the most important agenda items, especially subjects concerning the budgetary-fiscal policy. We conferred also on the election of the head of state. This is not a secondary issue. It is as important as the adoption of the budgetary-fiscal policy. We will discuss the election of the President with all the MPs and will soon announce the results,” the head of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu said after the meeting of the AEI Council.
The chairman of the Liberal-Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the leaders of the AEI agreed to work intensely on the adoption of an entire package of laws. “We spoke about the necessity of passing these laws. We must elect the head of state, but must also know what we will do afterward. You will find out about the date of the presidential elections soon. But we must find a solution to elect the head of state,” said Vlad Filat.
Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party, said they discussed the necessity of fulfilling the government program. “We want to go on so that the distrust in the alliance disappears. We can anytime hold a meeting and if we consider that we must set the date of the presidential elections, we will do it. You will find out the decision about the presidential elections in several days. We are paving the way for the elections. The alliance is a year, as a child that only starts to talk, and we must tell something clear to the people,” he stated.
Several hours before the meeting of the AEI Council, the alliance met in extended format and decided to postpone the examination of the 2012 budgetary-fiscal policy bill.
