Alexandr Stoianoglo, as President of the Republic of Moldova, will advocate pursuing a balanced and equidistant foreign policy. The statement was made by Adrian Albu, the representative of candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo, during an electoral debate staged by IPN News Agency. According to Albu, Alexandr Stoianoglo will be a President of all the people, who will not divide society based on political or geopolitical preferences. Referring to the war in Ukraine, Albu noted that Stoianoglo vehemently condemns any war.

The representative of candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo, who is supported by the Party of Socialists, explained that Stoianoglo will be a President of justice and the rule of law, who will negotiate with all the states on the basis of the interests of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

“In the field of foreign policy, Mr. Stoianoglo expressed himself very clearly. The Republic of Moldova is a geographical state located in such a way that we are destined to have good relations with everyone. We must be a welcoming, favorable state, to pursue an equidistant, balanced policy. All our actions at international level should be in the interests of our citizens. We must be against those who have the desire to interfere in the internal affairs of our country and tell them trenchantly when they go beyond the limits of common sense, and even the international treaties clearly say that any state has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of other states,” noted Adrian Albu.

According to him, as President, Alexandr Stoianoglo will build good relations with both European states and CIS countries to ensure sales markets and the exchange of good practices.

“Mr. Stoianoglo clearly stated that he has no problem with any of the economic blocs that surround us, neither the CIS nor the European Union. We need to bring the best practices from both sides. In the EU, there are many advanced technologies, qualified experts who can advise us how to ensure quality, including in agriculture, not to close the Agrarian University, as the current government did. With reference to the war in Ukraine, we condemn any war, in any part of the world. We are for peace,” said Adrian Albu.

He pointed out that the Party of Socialists does not agree with the idea of holding a referendum on the introduction of the European course in the Constitution, noting that such an exercise is meant only to provide political benefits to challenger Maia Sandu.

“We are not commenting on the referendum because we are not registered as referendum campaigners, but Ambassador Janis Majeiks answered for us. He clearly said that this referendum does not matter at all because negotiations are not yet taking place. Now the referendum is used as a political tool to raise the percentage of the incumbent President, who believes that this way she will be able to lie to the diaspora and the world again,” explained the representative of Alexandr Stoianoglo.

The series of debates entitled “Analyzing electoral demand and offers” are conducted by IPN News Agency during October 8-10, 2024, with support from the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the European Union.

The third debate, scheduled for Thursday, October 10, will involve Vasile Tarlev, nominated by the Party for the Future of Moldova, Ion Chicu, nominated by the Party for Development and Consolidation of Moldova, and Octavian Țîcu, candidate of the electoral bloc “Together”.
