Admission to “Nicolae Testemițanu” University is underway. Details about process

The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” starts on July 27. For the first time this year, the candidates submit the required documents online, on a specially created platform. Derails about the admission process were provided by the University’s rector Emil Ceban in an interview for IPN News Agency.

According to the rector, this year admission is specific owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and involves restrictions so as not to allow crowdedness. The University’s College worked during two months and created an electronic platform for the submission of documents. The process lasts from July 27 until August 4.

The preliminary results of the admission contest will be announced on August 7. The documents in the original will be accepted during August 8-18, while the final results will be made public on August 20.

The set of required documents includes the diploma of study, application to take part in the contest, four pictures 3x4, school contest diplomas and honorable mentions.

Emil Ceban said that ten days were offered for presenting the documents in the original so that social distancing could be maintained and contacts could be limited. The admission commission was outfitted appropriately, with masks, gloves and disinfectants.

Admission to the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” is based on the contest of the average grade of Baccalaureate diplomas and the average grade during the years of study, by the formula announced by the admission commission, according to the number of places available at the University.

In accordance with a Government decision, this year the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” will have 440 budget-funded places, by 50 places more than last year. A number of 380-400 places will be contract places.

The University currently has 5,800 students and 1,300 resident doctors who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova and of another 33 countries.
