The administration of the Parliament’s Secretariat remains in the same composition. The information was confirmed for IPN by the head of the legislature’s Mass Media Section of the General Public Relations and Communication Division Svetlana Rudenco.

The Secretariat led by the sectary general offers organizational, informational and technical assistance in the activity of the legislative body, the Standing Bureau, the standing commissions, the parliamentary groups and the MPs.

The Parliament’s Regulations provide that the secretary general is named by the Speaker, with the preliminary consultation of the Standing Bureau and with the approval of the legal commission for appointments and immunities. The secretary general is assisted by deputies to whom this can delegate a part of his/her duties.

The secretary general ensures the proper activity of the Parliament’s working bodies, hires and fires personnel of the Parliament’s Secretariat, except for persons whose appointment is within the remit of the Speaker.

Currently, the post of the Parliament’s secretary general is held by Adrian Albu, who is assisted by Igor Klipii and Lilia Melnic.
