Five specialized machines of the municipal Green Areas Association every night waters the season flowers and bushes planted this year in the five districts of Chisinau. The works are performed to keep the vegetation alive as the temperatures over the last few days have been very high.
Contacted by IPN, deputy head of the Green Areas Association Galina Leahu said that about 100 tonnes of water are needed to water the about 2 hectares of flower beds in hot weather. At night, the association’s employees in parallel splash the vegetation with biochemical preparations to combat pests and diseases.
This year the Green Areas Association planted over 120,000 annual plants.
Even if the information presented by the associations’ deputy head is of public interest, Galina Leahu expressed her dissatisfaction with the fact that the IPN’s reporter asked for data about the works performed by the employees during dog days. Moreover, she accused IPN Agency of trading in this information.
