The internal currency market has been rather active in October, transactions of total USD 430.15 mln being registered, in comparison to USD 402.53 in September. National Bank has been very active on the market, buying a record volume of foreign currency – USD 33.4 mln, including USD 2.13 mln as part of currency swap. These transactions are made in order to reduce the pressures on the market, generated by a great supply of currency. The daily average transfer on the currency market was of USD 19.55 mln. Most of transactions were operated in USD – 74.33%. The Single European currency holds a share of 21.18%, and the Russian ruble – 3.25%. The rest of the transaction currency has a rate of less than 1% on the market. Massive purchases of currency operated by the National Bank on the currency market allowed it an important growth of foreign exchange reserves. In the period from October 6 to November 10, these reserves increased by about USD 18 mln reaching USD 676.65 mln.
