The public association “Youth Generation” demands taking legal action against the prosecutor of Chisinau municipality Ivan Diacov, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca and secretary of the Chinua Municipal Council (CMC) Valeriu Didencu. In a news conference at IPN, the association’s leader Andrei Donica said the three must be arrested immediately because they stole large amounts of money from the municipal budget, IPN reports.
Acceding to Donica, in the last meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, the councilors adopted a decision by which, in the absence of an auction, a plot of 0.10 hectares was allotted to prosecutor Ivan Diacov. The land was leased out for a period of five years for 177 lei a year. If an auction had been held, as the law requires, thousands of lei would have been transferred to the municipal budget.
The head of the “Young Guard’ also said that besides the 10 ares leased out to Ivan Diacov by the CMC decision, the prosecutor also appropriated another 10 ares near the same plot. That plot is fenced.
Andrei Donica accused the mayor of Chisinau of taking no measure even if he knew about this transaction. “This is how they steal millions of lei from the municipal budget,” he stated.
CMC secretary Valeriu Didencu rented a plot that is 14 ares, not 6 ares as it is indicated in the lease.
Andrei Donica filed a relevant application to the Prosecutor General’s Office and will ask that the Chisinau Municipal Council’s decision be annulled.
