IPN flow synopsis, for 23 October 2019

6 – 10 % delights for budget employees

The draft law on the 2020 budget envisages a salary increase between 6 and 10% for the majority of the employees of state institutions. At the same time, for some categories of budget employees, the remuneration could increase up to 1500-2000 lei per month. The proposals have been discussed during public consultations on the salary policy for 2020 and for medium term (2021-2022).

Gone with the wind

About 36 million lei will be spent in order to organize the second round of general local elections – of the general mayor of Chisinau municipality, but also of mayors in the electoral constituencies of a number of municipalities, towns and villages, which will take place on November 3.

No one is rocking the boat!

Ion Ceban: I do not have a political issue with Andrei Nastase, but we have to share the issues of Chisinau municipality”, „ Andrei Nastase: My program will include the best of other candidates’ programs”.

„Society’s interest comes first!”

Former Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, Nicolae Eşanu, says that neither the Superior Council of Prosecutors nor the Superior Council of Magistracy are bodies that should govern the system. "The interest of society is above. Yes, there are bodies that take decisions in these fields, however, they do not self-govern the system", specified Nicolae Esanu, whereas former deputy director of the National Anticorruption Centre, Cristina Țărnă, has stressed that the establishment of the commission that selects candidates for the position of prosecutor general is unconstitutional.

Business is business, but with offshore money?

Iurie Reniță
claims that he has a document drawn up by the National Anticorruption Centre, which reflects the investigations of the Service for the prevention and combating of money laundering within the CNA. According to the document, starting 2016, several natural persons and legal entities from the Republic of Moldova have actively participated in a large scale scheme of laundering money of unknown origin through offshore companies registered in the Bahamas. The money was subsequently used to finance the PSRM election campaign.

Braghis also tried, but it turned out a total shambles

Freelancers, such as those who work individually in the field of art, engineering, etc., and who are reluctant to enter into legality because of the high taxes and bureaucratic provisions, could work based on a unified and simplified tax regime. They would have to pay a single tax of 12%, to file an annual report, as well as to keep a register of accounting entries and exits, while those who have cash operations would have to purchase cash registers. These and other proposals have been put forward by MPs from PAS group, ACUM Bloc, who developed a draft law in this respect.
