Billion and airport back as basis of guaranteed consensus

Without a broad consensus in society about the justice sector reform bill, the success of the given reform cannot be ensured, stated Prime Minister Ion Chicu. According to him, it there is no agreement as to how important the reform is and if some of the representatives of society  try to gain political benefits over this issue, problems will be probably encountered in doing it.

Moldovans as they are perceived by Americans

According to a poll
conducted on behalf of the International Republican Institute (IRI), if parliamentary elections were held in Moldova next Sunday, three parties would enter the legislative body as a result of them: the Party of Socialists (PSRM), the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the Democratic Party (PDM). The PSRM would gain 29 percent of the vote, the PAS – 21 percent and the PDM – 10 percent. The most trusted politicians are President Igor Dodon and PAS leader Maia Sandu who were mentioned by 24 percent of the respondents from all over the country. At the level of Chisinau municipality, the PAS leader was mentioned by 32 percent of those surveyed, as opposed to 19 percent for Igor Dodon.

Ten years of ... missed possibilities


In an unofficial discussion with the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis in Israel, Igor Dodon said he suggested that they should organize common events on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement with Romania this April. He also said that the relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova are excellent, telling his counterpart about the political developments in Chisinau following the replacement of the Sandu Government.

Mess and flaw in caste of “untouchable” slaves

Disciplinary proceedings will be brought against the former acting head of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crimes and Special Cases Dorin Compan. Moreover, several criminal cases were initiated at the PGO, but Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo said he cannot reveal the names of the implicated prosecutors. He confirmed that acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu took legal action against Democratic MP Sergiu Sîrbu three months ago. Alexandr Stoianoglo also spoke about the suit filed by the leader of the PPPDA Andrei Năstase to the PGO, by which it is demanded to prosecute President Igor Dodon.
