Against the background of disappointment
in the old pro-European forces, the political system requires time to regenerate and produce new political parties, which will become credible to the more Western-oriented public, which also is more demanding of reforms. In such circumstances of political confusion, the forces with a conservative attitude towards reforms, close to the desirable political profile for Russia, become more attractive to the electorate. Consequently, although the European integration is maintained in force, it is relativized and balanced by normalizing relations with Russia, including with the Eurasian vector, stated political researcher Dionis Cenușă.
Successful celebrations, as always in the case of Bessarabians
Romania’s National Day and the 101st anniversary of the Great Union Day were marked in Chisinau through a series of events, including a march from the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great to the former building of the People’s Council situated on Alexei Mateevici St, where the union with Romania was agreed.
But it’s different in Moldova’s case
The European Union and Romania were always ready to lend a hand to the Republic of Moldova, including for a multitude of projects for the direct benefit of the citizens and consistent non-reimbursable amounts. These were all offered for helping the Republic of Moldova become a better space, a better, more democratic and more stable country so that the citizens generally know the benefits of joining the European area, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ioniță stated in a video interview for IPN News Agency. Any assistance that Romania will offer to Moldova, including the financial one, is to be attentively assessed and subject to strict conditionality related to the support for a reform path. The reforms are wanted first of all by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and should meet high expectations of the citizens.
