“During the past few years and months, we saw on TV a series of arrests of state functionaries, prosecutors, lawyers, customs officers, police officers and employees of mayor’s offices who asked for bribe, but not much is known about the end result of these investigations. I think not even 10% of these showy cases are brought to an end. There are also tens of cases that were started artificially in order to extort money or deprive people of businesses,” Premier Chicu stated in the January 3 meeting of the Cabinet.

The Government will remit the package of documents on the justice sector reform to the Council of Europe. After the meeting, Minister of Justice Fadei Nagachevski said the intention is to present the document to Parliament for adoption in February – March.

The number of organizations that can benefit from the 2% mechanism in 2020 rose by 15% on last year to 844. The Legal Resources Center of Moldova said that an increasing number of NGOs can benefit from the process when private individuals – taxpayers direct 2% of the tax they pay on the income earned the previous year.
Bought peace is wasted together with money
“It is our duty to keep the city clean, but the inhabitants of Țânțăreni should be assured that we are reliable partners and can do so that everyone is satisfied,” stated the mayor. The municipality of Chisinau will allocate another 10 million lei in addition to the 6 million lei planned by the previous contract for solving pressing problems faced by Țânțăreni.
