But who ate garlic?

Valentin Eșanu, president of the Metal Employers Association, said the monopoly at the scrap metal company “Metalferos” returned after being eliminated for a month only. “The schemes are restored and are strengthened. Those who served the PDM now joined the Socialists. The police officers who covered different schemes were reinstated and even advanced,” stated Valentin Eșanu, adding that the money that is stolen now there reaches the pockets of the PSRM and PDM. Ex-President Voronin also said that nothing changed after Vladimir Plahotniuc fled the country and the schemes employed by this were undertaken by Igor Dodon”, while an alliance between the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party of Moldova has always existed and the current negotiations between the two parties are just mimicked.

“Seven persons, six of whom returned from Italy and one from Korea, had fever and breathing problems and were coughing. All the cases tested negative for the coronavirus,” said the director of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună. To calm things down, the official said COVID-19 is not very contagious. This is a new airborne virus of the group of acute viral respiratory infections. “In the Republic of Moldova, panic prevails over logic. The people should understand that panic is unwanted,” concluded Nicolae Furtună.

Representatives of editorial offices of newspapers say the print media in Moldova has reached a catastrophic situation during the last few years. The local public administration is mainly to blame as it destroyed the print media distribution system. A number of papers stopped to be issued last year and the “drastic decline” in the number of kiosks selling newspapers is one of the reasons for such a state.

Five municipal minibus routes will be suspended as of March 2. These are routes No.108, 129, 135, 178 and 175. The carriers argue their activity is not profitable and say the problem can be solved by two ways – the municipality either accepts the request to increase the minibus fare or keep the fare of 3 lei but provide subsidies to private carriers in the same conditions as those enjoyed by municipal transport enterprises.
