Approximately 82% of the personnel of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations have been immunized against COVID-19. The Inspectorate’s chief, general-major Mihail Harabagiu in a press briefing said the firefighters’ and rescuers’ motivation to get vaccination first of all derives from the wish to serve the Republic of Moldova and to take part in rescue operations, IPN reports.

“So as not to endanger the operations that require the involvement of firefighters and rescuers, it was the duty of the employees to strictly fulfill the requirements of the World Health Organization and, together with the appearance of the vaccine against COVID-19, to go through the vaccination stages so as to perform the operations safety,” said Mihail Harabagiu, calling on the people to get vaccinated so as to contain the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

A social video that encourages the vaccination of people was launched in the press briefing. In this, the rescuer’s and other members of society urge the people not to be afraid of the COVID-19 vaccine.
