Approximately 30 new groups have been opened this year at the nursery schools of Chisinau municipality. The total number of new groups opened since 2008 until now is about 250, IPN reports.
In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions of December 14, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that 11 nurseries whose buildings were used as schools or were leased out to economic entities have been reopened since 2008.
The official stated that Nursery School No. 13 ”Licurici”, located on Roman St, is the preschool education institution that was reopened most recently. This was inaugurated last weekend after being extensively repaired. Four groups of 25 places each, including two crèche groups, work there since December 14. The renovation and equipment works cost about 2 million lei. The money was allocated from the municipal budget. Next year the repair works at this institution will continue so that the number of groups could be increased to 12.
Currently, there are 247 nursery schools in Chisinau municipality.
