Tulip lovers can visit the “Tulip Island” at the Botanical Garden in Chisinau starting April 13. The floral project is a unique exhibition of over 3,000 tulips. The bulbs were brought directly from the heart of the Netherlands, IPN reports.
The tulips were planted on an island within the Botanical Garden last autumn by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chisinau Fred Duijn, together with the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu.
“This splash of color in the heart of the Garden illustrates the upward evolution of the bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Moldova, marked by the 30th anniversary of the bilateral relations, the official opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chisinau and the historic visit of President Sandu to the Netherlands,” said the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moldova.
“Starting this weekend, we warmly invite you to visit our island with your loved ones, discovering “a little Netherlands” in the heart of Chisinau’s Botanical Garden. We invite you to share with us this magical symbol of the “blossoming” relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Netherlands,” reads the same message.
The “Tulip Island” can be visited until April 28.
