A 93-year-old woman was found partially charred in her home in Ilyichovca village of Florești district on Monday morning. The fire allegedly broke out in the house due to malfunctions in the chimney of the stove, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the victim was found by neighbors. They called the 112 service at around 08:00 a.m. Two fire crews went to the scene. They determined that the fire damaged goods in the house and partially the ceiling. The fire was completely extinguished in about an hour.

Also this morning, a fire broke out in a house in Climăuți village of Dondușeni district. The flames engulfed objects in the house. The 60-year-old owner of the house died in the fire. According to specialists, the fire broke out due to reckless smoking.

Citizens are advised to periodically ventilate the rooms where fires burn and to ensure that the smoke exhaust channels are not blocked. Particular attention should be paid to the elderly, and they should be helped to light and monitor the fire in the stove.
