91 MPs attend Parliament constitution sitting

The MPs elected as a result of the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 came together for the constitution sitting that is chaired by the oldest MP Eduard Smirnov, of the Party of Socialists, IPN reports.

The first sitting of the new legislative body involves 91 of the 101 elected MPs.

The meeting is also attended by President Maia Sandu, Constitutional Court president Domnica Manole, Central Election Commission chairman Dorin Centrale and representatives of embassies accredited to Moldova.

Eduard Smirnov declared the sitting of the Parliament of the eleventh legislature opened.

Three political entities entered the new Parliament: the Party of Action and Solidarity with 63 seats; the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists with 32 seats, and the Shor Party with six seats.
