Since the start of the COVID19 vaccination campaign that was kicked off in Moldova in March, 7.7% of the eligible population has been immunized with the first dose of vaccine, while 1.2% – with both of the doses. The goal is to immunize over 70% of the population by the end of this year. This is 50,000 to 70,000 people vaccinated during a week, IPN quoted Alexei Ceban, epidemiologist of the National Public Health Agency, as saying in a news conference.
The epidemiologist assured that all the available vaccines are efficient and safe. To get a vaccine, the people can use one of the three options: to go to the family doctor, to make an appointment through vaccinare.gov.md or to go directly to vaccination centers with the identity card.
Alexei Ceban also said that the next lot of vaccine that will be delivered to Moldova through COVAX will contain about 45,000 doses. The type of vaccine and the delivery date are not yet known.
Igor Curov, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, said a vaccination marathon will be staged at the Palace of the Republic located at 16 Maria Cebotari St, from 9am until 10pm, during May 28-30. Those who meet with difficulties in the vaccination process can use the green line of the National Public Health Agency on 080012300.
National immunization campaign coordinator Ninel Revenco said the persons aged 18 and over can get vaccinated. In the case of Pfizer vaccine, the persons who turned 16 can also get a vaccine, but with the parents’ consent.
