61 entrepreneurs will receive grants totaling 41.7m lei

As many as 61 entrepreneurs operating in various areas of activity will receive non-reimbursable funding. The funds totaling 41.7 million lei are designed to boost local businesses and economic growth, IPN reports.

"This day represents not only a figure of 41 million, but symbolizes also your investment, of the 60 entrepreneurs, of almost 100 million lei in the country's economy. We count on the work and courage of entrepreneurs, who are the hope of this country," said Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba.

Grants are awarded through a number of ODA programs that are designed to meet the diverse needs of entrepreneurs. It goes to financing through the refurbishment and energy efficiency program, through the program to support female entrepreneurship, as well as through the "Dom de 2" program, which is intended for the diaspora.

There is also the internationalization program that is aimed at supporting exports and expanding Moldovan business on foreign markets.

"We are the ones who implement this support offered by the Government and development partners. By digitizing processes, we aim to provide faster and more efficient support in the future," said ODA director Vadim Codreanu.

"In the past 10 years, we have been steadily increasing exports to the European Union. I am referring to all types of packaging for labels, pharmaceutical packaging," said the representative of a printing house, a beneficiary of the program.

"Thank you for supporting our business. We will go further to promote our culture and traditions," said the representative of a company based in ATU Gagauzia.

"We are a socially oriented enterprise. Currently, out of 15 employees, 10 are people with disabilities. We initiated a start-up program - the Social Café. The money received as grant will be used to develop the business,” noted one of the beneficiary entrepreneurs.

The grants are provided by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union and the World Bank through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).
