The latest reports on the railroad accident that happened today in Moscow region, provided at 17.30, show that five passengers of the train heading for Chisinau were killed on the spot, while the sixth died in the hospital. Another 28 persons were hospitalized, mostly in a serious condition. Two children are among those hurt. The passenger train was hit by a Ukrainian freight train that derailed, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure sent a crisis cell to Russia to help those injured and the relatives of those killed to transport the bodies home.
The Russian authorities started a criminal case and are examining three versions of the accident –bad state of the freight train, bad state of the railways and the human factor.
