The 587th anniversary of the first documentary attestation of Chisinau is celebrated today, July 17. On this occasion, a number of cultural events will be staged in the capital city, IPN reports.
A book exhibition centering on the city’s history and a poster exhibition entitled “Citizens of Honor of Chisinau Municipality” were mounted in the hall of the Chisinau City Hall. An exhibition of paintings by Iraida Ciobanu titled “Chisinau through Time Mills” was staged in Mihai Eminescu Square.
At 11.00am, a scientific conference entitled “Chisinau, Cultural Heritage and Historical Education” will start in the meeting hall of the Chisinau Municipal Council.
At 6pm, Mihai Eminescu Square will host the launch of Aliona Grati’s book “Chisinau through Time Mills. Literary Imagology Essay”.
At 9pm, the documentary “Municipal Library B. P. Hasdeu in Chisinau Universe” will be screened in Mihai Eminescu Square, while at 9:45pm, there will be shown documentaries of the series “Chisinau through Time Mills. Urban Myths and Legends”.
Also today, access to the Chisinau Zoological Garden is free for everyone. The visitors will be able to take part in Quest Family with unordinary tasks, challenges and recreational activities for people of all ages. The teams will start to be registered at 6pm, while the Family Quest will begin at 8:30pm. The winners will be awarded at 9pm.
