556,000 ballots to be printed for polling stations abroad

As many as 556,000 ballots will be printed for the November 1 presidential elections for the 139 polling stations that will be established abroad. The number was agreed by the Central Election Commission on October 9, IPN reports.

CEC president Dorin Cimil said the decision was taken based on the proposals formulated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Of the 556,000 ballots, 467,600 are in Romanian.

The CEC also approved the model and text of the ballot. The ballot will be 236 mm in length and 140 mm in width.

The candidates will have the following order on the ballot: 1. Renato Usatyi (Our Party), 2. Andrei Năstase (Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”), 3. Tudor Deliu (Liberal-Democratic Party), 4. Igor Dodon (independent, supported by Party of Socialists), 5. Violeta Ivanov (Shor Party), 6. Maia Sandu (Party of Action and Solidarity), 7. Octavian Țîcu (National Unity Party) and 8. Dorin Chirtoacă (UNION Electoral Bloc).

The names of the electoral competitors are written on the ballot with capital letters in the order indicated above. The ballot will be printed on matte, dark gray paper.
