50 new farm vehicles stations were opened in rural area in 2006

50 new farm vehicles stations were created in the rural area in 2006. This fact allowed, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI), to cultivate profitably about 270 thousand ha of farmlands both for the state and private farmers. About 150 stations were created since 2003 until present. The stations allowed for providing services to agricultural producers, including to the households that individually farm their plots, on areas of over 50 thousand ha annually. The state subsidised with MDL 45 mln, funds administrated by the state enterprise “Moldresurse”, the farm vehicles stations. The Fund for Agricultural subventions will offer about MDL 20 mln in this respect in 2007. Also, the state will resume the process of subsidising the agricultural producers that will purchase agricultural equipment, implements and technologies. According to MAFI, the aim of the subsidising is to increase the level of the technical equipment in the agricultural sector, a very important fact in the process of implementing modern technologies in creating high-quality Moldovan production.
