As many as 44 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 are in critical condition at the hospital. Of these, 32 are treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă”, while another 12 at the National Clinical Hospital, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing.
According to the minister, of the 263 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Moldova, 59 were imported, while 204 are cases of local transmission. The virus affected 148 women and 115 men.
From today, March 30, the persons suspected of having got COVID-19 will be taken to the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Michael”. A number of district hospitals will start to accept persons who are suspected or confirmed to have the infection.
Of the 263 persons who caught the novel coronavirus in Moldova, 13 recovered, while two died. Globally, the virus claimed 33,900 lives. The death tolls are the highest in Italy, Spain, and China.
