40 Chisinau residents might lose their apartments for debts

The owners of more than 40 apartments located in Ciocana district, Chisinau, might lose their apartments because they did not cope with the debts to the heat supplier, “Termocom” JSC. The legal executor of Ciocana district levied distraint upon the property of two apartment owners who had considerable debts for heat. Termocom’s Press Service Head Olga Alergus says that the legal executor levied distraint upon the apartment of an resident living on P. Zadnipru Street 19, who had a debt of MDL 10 000. Distraint was levied upon the material goods of another debtor living in the same apartment block – TV set, DVD, refrigerator and furniture. The debt of the consumer exceeded MDL 14 thousand. According to the Press Service of the heat supplier, the debtors have 15 days to pay off their debts and to retrieve their goods. Otherwise, the legal executor has the right to auction off the goods. Sources from “Termocom” say that during this week, distraint was levied upon the dwellings of 42 individuals from Ciocana district. The supplier hopes to recover MDL 417 thousand in this way.
