As many as 360 young people, graduates of educational sciences, are to be employed from September 1 in educational institutions in the country. Their files were declared eligible out of a number of over 480 files submitted within a campaign launched by the Ministry of Education and Research. However, the authorities aim to employ 500 young specialists and the second selection stage will be organized in July therefore, IPN reports.

In a live broadcast, Minister Dan Perciun said that the campaign aimed to stimulate and encourage as many graduates as possible to go and work at educational institutions after completing their studies in education sciences or other related specialties.

“In total, 1,800 places were made available for assignment. That’s why the second stage of registration will take place in mid-July. Our ambitious goal is to have 500 young specialists working in schools on September 1. We hope to get closer to this goal,” stated Dan Perciun.

Graduates of teacher-training specialties who will be employed on one of the vacant teaching positions in the first five years of work will benefit from an allowance of 200,000 lei, in the case of university graduates, and of 160,000 lei in the case of college graduates. Also, the teaching norm will be reduced to 75% in the first five years of work. A sum of 4,000 lei in compensation will be offered annually for purchasing teaching aids and equipment.

For those who will choose to go and work in rural areas or district centers, the expenses for renting housing and for heat and electricity will be covered. Likewise, the young specialists will benefit from 62-day leave, assistance from the mentor teacher in the first five years of work and other concessions.
