35 Million lei, allocated for collaboration between researchers and businessmen

Thirty-five million lei will be allocated to stimulate collaboration between researchers and the economic environment. It is about the National Fund for Innovation and Technology, which is due to be launched this year, IPN reports with reference to the Ministry of Education and Research.

State Secretary Adriana Cazacu said that in 2025 the modernization of the national research system will continue, more opportunities will be offered to researchers, fostering academic excellence, supporting young researchers, including through dedicated funding.

„Phd resources will be increased up to 4 400 lei. We will make investments to modernize the research infrastructure so that our researchers work in conditions comparable to those in the member states of the European Union”, the secretary of state noted.

For the first time, from the project „Moldova”, funded by the World Bank, grants will be awarded totaling 8 million euros for the development of research infrastructure.

The secretary of state also referred to the MEC actions to support the field of research and innovation in 2024. Thus, the salaries of the researchers were increased by 21%. A new funding methodology has been approved, which aims to increase stability and predictability in the sector, through an institutional allocation of 90% for research institutes.

The activity plan for 2025 in the field of research and innovation was consulted by the Ministry of Education and Research with several researchers, pro-rector, and, representatives of public law organizations and members of the National Agency for Research and Development.
