As of March 3, the total number of voters registered in the State Register of Voters is 3 298 036. Of these, 2 737 955 are distributed in the administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
Of the total number of those who are not assigned to constituencies, 284 084 are Moldovan citizens without permanent residence, including people who have emigrated abroad. Another 275 997 voters reside in the Transnistrian region, a territory provisionally outside the control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova.
Chisinau municipality has the highest number of registered voters - 649 330, followed by UTA Gagauzia with 128 281 and Balti municipality with 97 119. Other districts with a significant number of voters are Cahul - 97 063, Orhei - 95 840 and Hâncești - 95 780.
