3-year-old killed in car fire

A 3-year-old child died on Friday, March 9, in a car fire. Fire Department deputy chief Major Vladimir Gonta told Info-Prim Neo that the tragedy occurred in Mereni village, Anenii Noi raion. According to him, 2 children entered a VAZ car where they were playing with matches. After the vehicle took fire, one of the children managed to escape, and the other one remained trapped in the burning car. Gonta said 4 persons died in 3 fires on March 8. A drunken person aged 68 from Cimislia raion, Hartop village, died in a fire because of the irresponsible use of the stove in his summer kitchen. In Stohnaia village, Rezina raion, a man aged 62 and his wife aged 55 died as a result of a possible arson. A woman aged 92, living on 31 August Street in Chisinau died in a fire in her apartment. The Firemen and Rescuers Service registered 60 fires in March, of which 24 occurred in Chisinau. These fires took 6 lives.
