The total number of voters put on the State Register of Voters was 3 287 140 when the procedure for updating the rolls was over. The voters are invited to check the correctness of the data on the electoral lists of the electoral bureau of the polling place, which corresponds to the valid domicile or residence, and on the official website of the Central Election Commission (CEC), IPN reports.

According to the CEC, of the total number of voters, 2 798 306 form part of territorial-administrative units of the second level. The difference comprises the persons who have Moldovan nationality, but don’t have a registered domicile or residence, those who emigrated legally (232 631 persons) and the citizens with the right to vote with the domicile registered in the territorial-administrative units on the left bank of the Nistru, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (256 203).

Under the Electoral Code, the basic voter rolls are to be printed and transmitted by the CEC to the local public authorities at least 22 days before the election day, in three copies. Two copies of the lists are transmitted immediately to the electoral bureau of the polling place, while a copy is kept at the mayor’s office.

The voters can see if their data were correctly put on the voter rolls on the CEC’s website, in the Check State Register of Voters division, or directly on liste.cec.md, by choosing the region, locality and polling station where they are to vote.

Changes on the voter rolls can be made until the day prior to the election day, which is on October 31 inclusive.
