A man aged 29 from Ungheni district was sentenced to life for murder and domestic violence. Being under the influence of alcohol, he stabbed a woman from his village for 50 times and also beat his stepfather on another occasion, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, this August, while on a visit to a 47-year-old woman from his village, being inebriated, he stabbed the woman with a kitchen knife for at least 50 times. The woman didn’t survive.
Three months earlier, while at his mother’s home in Călărași district, he beat his stepfather with a cudgel, causing minor bodily injuries to this.
The culprit admitted his guilt. He had been previously convicted of a number of offenses, including premeditated murder.
The sentence can be challenged in the Chisinau Appeals Court within 15 days.
