Last week’s severe frost caused the freezing of 27 branch pipes in Chisinau. The water pipes have frozen up because they weren’t insulated appropriately, IPN has learned from the public water utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”.
The company’s specialists recommend the end-users to re-lay the pipes at a depth of minimum 1.2 meters and to correctly insulate the meters.
The owners whose branch pipes will get frozen will have to pay a charge to the water supplier’s intervention team. The charge is set depending on the volume and complexity of the performed works.
