26 medicines authorized for first time in Moldova.

Twenty-six medicines were authorized for the first time by the Medicines Commission of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, while another 13 drugs were authorized repeatedly. Among the medicines authorized for the first time are those for the treatment of coughs and colds, analgesics, antidiabetics and antidepressants, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Agency noted that a drug produced in Cyprus in the form of film-coated tablets, Jidinum, was authorized for the first time. The medicine lowers blood glucose levels in adult patients with type 2 diabetes.

The film-coated tablets EMBOQUIS, produced in Turkey, are used in adults to prevent blood clots from forming after particular surgeries, in patients with irregular heartbeats, but also to treat blood clots in leg veins.

The Commission also authorized medicines produced in the Republic of Moldova: Analgin-BP 500 mg (Balkan Pharmaceuticals) and Flusicold 600 mg/10 mg granules (Centro Impex).

Among the drugs authorized repeatedly is Neogabin, capsules. This medicine is used to treat certain forms of epilepsy in adults, chronic pain caused by nerve damage and to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults.

Among the authorized medicines is also MIBZO, powder for solution, which is used to treat multiple myeloma (a type of bone marrow cancer) in patients over 18 years of age. It is administered alone or together with other drugs.
