A man aged 22 who stubbed to death two elderly persons from Straseni district last November was sentenced to death. He broke into the couple’s house in order to steal money, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the young man was seen by the house’s owner when he was trying to break the lock. He stabbed the old man with a kitchen knife. The victim died on the spot. His wife tried to intervene, but was also stabbed mortally.
After committing the murder, the offender stole about 15,000 lei. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
