The 20th Winter Charity Bazaar will be staged by the International Women’s Club of Moldova (IWCM) at the exhibitions center “Moldexpo” on December 3. Embassies working in Moldova, craftsmen, different international and national organizations and business entities will exhibit dishes, beverages, works of art, clothes, books and toys for children at reasonable prices. The proceeds will go to support two social centers, a public association and an orphanage, IPN reports.

The organizers of the bazaar said a sum of US$45,000 is needed to financially support the Center SOS Autism, the Women’s Law Center of Moldova, the organization “Neoumanist” and the children’s home in Hancesti.

IWCM co-president Maria Marinuta said the Winter Charity Bazaar is a very nice tradition borrowed from other cultures. According to her, this is the central event of the International Women’s Club of Moldova that generates the largest funds for charity projects. “The spirit of winter holidays always makes us to be better and invokes the spirit of charity and love for the close people and makes us help where our assistance is needed,” she stated.

This year Moldova’s stand will be mounted by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs. The fair will be held at “Moldexpo” between 10am and 5pm. Entrance costs 20 lei. There will be staged a draw with a lot of prizes.

The novelty of the event this year is that several tents will be pitched in the open air, by the mode of the classical Christmas fairs.

The proceeds of the charity bazaar 2015 of €35,000 went to build an elevator inside the Center for Children with Disabilities “Fenix” of Rascani. A part of the money was donated to the association “Debra Moldova”, which defends the rights of persons suffering from epidermolysis bullosa, while another part was allocated for equipping and connecting a placement center in Straseni to the Internet.

The International Women’s Club of Moldova consists of the wives of foreign ambassadors, members of international organizations and active women from the local community, who work based on volunteerism.
