Rugby Team UTM member Igor Mishin was named the best Moldovan ruby player of the year. He successfully played for the national rugby sevens team and the national rugby 15s team, with both of the teams being promoted, IPN reports.
Nicoleta Meșină of Poli Iași became the best international rugby player, while Maxim Hoychev of CSC Tiraspol was named the best U18 player.
Former player of the national team Alexei Cotruță, who reached the final of Conference 1 together with the national rugby sevens team, was named coach of the year. The national team that distinguished itself in Belgrade was chosen the best national team, while Rugby Team UTM, which won the Chisinau Rugby Sevens and 15s Cups in 2022, became the best rugby club.
Eugeniu Procopi was designated as the best referee, while Vadim Cobîlaș of Bordeaux Begles was named the player of the decade. The “best historic result” was another award bestowed by the president of the Moldovan Rugby Federation Anatol Curechi. This went to the national ruby sevens team of 2007, which ranked third at the European Rugby Champions Cup.
