Inbound tourists – 9,167*
The number of inbound tourists dropped by 5.5%.
54.3% of inbound tourists visited Moldova for
leisure, 34.8% for business, and 5.5% for medical
treatment. Most tourists came from Romania (18.6%),
Russia (13.6%), Ukraine (9.6%), Germany (5.5%),
the U.S. (5.1%), Israel (4.9%), Turkey (4,5%), Italy
(4.3%), Poland (3.3%), and the UK (2.9%).

Outbound tourists – 160,474*
The number of outbound tourists rose by 14.3% from
the same period last year. The overwhelming majority
of the Moldovan tourists traveled abroad for leisure
(98.8%). Moldovans preferred Turkey (36.3%),
Bulgaria (36.2%), Greece (9.3%), Romania (7.8%),
Ukraine (1.7%), the United Arab Emirates (1.4%),
Egypt (1.1%) and Italy (0.9%) as their destinations.

Domestic tourists – 33,174*
The number of domestic tourists rose by 31.9% from
the same period last year. Domestic tourism was
mainly organized through travel agencies based in
Chisinau (50.7%) and in the development regions
Center (23.1%) and South (20.0%).
