200 representatives of small and medium business participate at the Exhibition-Forum „Small Business 2006”

About 200 representatives of small and medium business, credit enterprises, banks, investment and consulting companies attend, starting Thursday, 4 May, the Regional Exhibition-Forum „Small Business”, held at the International Exhibition Center „Moldexpo”. At the exhibition opening, general manager of „Moldexpo” Natalia Ciocan said that the event is a start for many representatives of small business, and activities organized with this occasion show the fact that the exhibition became an important economic forum for the representatives of this business. According to Ciocan, the businessmen’s participation fees were covered partly by the Government, in light of a pervious government decision. Deputy Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianai, present at the event, noted that the exhibition is an efficient way for promoting business and getting experience, as well as a unique possibility for setting a constructive dialogue between authorities and businessmen. Workshops and round tables will be organized at the exhibition. There will be announced the results of the republican contest „The best businessmen of small business”, and in the last exhibition day the winner will get diplomas and money prizes. Representatives of district councils of Soldanesti and Cantemir take part for the first time in this exhibition. At the present edition are participating 33 food and beverages producers, 25 – clothes and shoes producers, 7 – furniture and carpets producers, 15 – construction materials, electric devices, equipment, 45 handicraft producers and 31 services providers. The exhibition „Small business 2006” is organized by the Ministry of Economics and Commerce and CIE „Moldexpo”. Small business sector in Moldova represents about 92% of the number of the country’s enterprises.
