200 firefighters and rescuers from Moldova and Romania are conducting joint exercises at the Training Center of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Iași County.
Rescuers and firefighters are perfecting their firefighting intervention techniques and safe search-rescue and self-rescue procedures. They participate in various simulated missions: interventions in bodies of water, extinguishing fires, providing qualified first aid, but also performing search and rescue work in hostile environments. The participants are perfecting their team intervention techniques when carrying out extrication missions, rescue from height, and also searching for people with the assistance of trained dogs.
The exercises are carried out within the Joint Romania - Moldova Operational Program 2014-2020, within the SMURD-2 project, being financed by the European Union.
