13-year-old wins Moldova’s table tennis championship

An athlete of only 13 won Moldova’s table tennis championship. Alexandra Kiryakova is a student of the table tennis school of Dubasari, IPN reports.

She beat last year’s champion Ecaterina Jibric from Chisinau. Ex-champion Ecaterina Shmiganovskaya from Dubasari also mounted the winner’s rostrum. The men’s competition was won by Vladislav Ursu from Chisinau. Andrei Putuntica, also from Chisinau, ranked second, while Veniamin Dubrovin from Balti ranked third.

The winners in the doubles were the pairs Olga Bliznet - Ecaterina Shmiganovscaya and Vladislav Ursu - Andrei Putuntica. The mixed doubles competition was won by Andrei Putuntica and Vitalina Brinza.
