120 streets to be stopped up in Chisinau by Easter

The Chisinau administration pledged to stop up 120 streets in the capital city by Easter. They will include main streets, boulevards and access roads to suburbs. Efim Cheptanari, director of the road maintenance company Exdrupo, said the stopping up works started late in March, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The main streets that will be stopped up must be those on which public transport runs. The works should be performed in compliance with the asphalt paving technologies. We have experience and will try to find the necessary financial resources,” Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said in Monday’s ordinary meeting of City Hall officials. This year the local authorities plan to fully repair 10 streets, including Stefan cel Mare Blvd., Grigore Vieru Blvd., and Vadul lui Voda St. A sum of 650,000 lei was earmarked for the purpose. The Chisinau Municipal Council also decided to take out a loan of about 162 million lei for road repair.
