A number of young members of the public association “Honor, Dignity and Homeland” spread a 100-meter long tricolor in Europe Square in the center of Chisinau. By such a method, the organizers aimed to educate the young generation in the spirit of national values, IPN reports.
The young people went on a march along a number of streets of Chisinau, carrying the national flag. They stopped in the pedestrian street. The association’s co-chairwomen Corina Bezer has told IPN that the length of the flag will grow annually. “The goal of this event is to celebrate the National Flag Day. We also aim to teach the young generation to respect the national values because we regretfully see that there are tendencies to forget them. We want to put them to good use and to transmit the message that the tricolor is our national value. It is what represents us as a people,” she stated.
Corina Bezer also said that the length of the tricolor wasn’t chosen accidentally. “In 2018, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Great Union. That’s why this figure is closer to our souls,” she said.
Earlier today, a 15-meter long tricolor was hoisted on the State University of Moldova.
