Price of construction materials to be regulated by state
Construction materials were included by the Government in the list of goods and services the price of which is regulated by the state. At the same time, detergents, cooking oil, butter and other products were excluded from the list.
The Cabinet approved the decision on the price regulation by the state on Wednesday, January 24. Minister Igor Dodon said the Ministry of Economy and Commerce suggested the approval of a new normative framework in order to update the list of services and goods, included in the list back in the 90s.
Referring to the regulation of the construction materials prices, the minister mentioned that the prices did not increase significantly in recent times. According to him, at present the specialists analyse the profitableness of the construction materials. It is examined the possibility of settling this index at 16%-20%.
At the same time, Dodon said that vegetable oils and animal fats were excluded from the list because at the present moment the market of these products needs no more to be regulated, since the market levers are used efficiently. The demand on the market, as well as the fact that there are several producers, should be a reason to maintain prices.
The price of drugs and baked goods will continue to be regulated by the state. Numerous requests from companies to modify the price settling method for bread and baked goods was taken into consideration when drawing up the aforementioned decision. Because at present selling bread is not a profitable business, it was decided to exclude the transportation expenses from the 10% commercial tax included in the delivery price.
