Premier Greceanai: Government did not order to cut state employees' salaries
Zinaida Greceanai denies that the Government would have ordered to cut the state employees' salaries. “We asked the managers of the state institutions to cut the expenditures by 20%. The transfers to the local administration units were cut by 20 %, but we did not order to cut the salaries of kindergarten educators, doctors or other employees of social institutions,” said the prime-minister after the Cabinet's sitting on July 20, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Some administrators from districts have politicized this issue and allowed to cut the salaries of several categories of state employees, sent them to vacation, moreover, reduced the working hours of the social institutions,” the premier found.
“Nobody has the right to attempt to the salaries, moreover to halt the work of social institutions,” Zinaida Grecianai said.
She has asked ministries to check up if the salaries are duly paid in the areas they run.
“The mayors certainly can reduce employees, can send people to vacation, but they must not close down the institutions,” Grecianai added.
