“We have am ambitious agenda and, even if the crises continue, we must continue the reforms and show to the people that the state can offer safety, development and can improve people’s lives,” Speaker Igor Grosu stated in the opening of the spring session of Parliament, IPN reports.
The sitting started with the singing of the national anthem by the choir “Gloria” of the Center of Excellence in Artistic Education “Ștefan Neaga” conducted by Valeria Diaconu. Later, the two new MPs who joined the group of the Party of Action and Solidarity - Alina Dandara and Mihail Leahu – were presented.
“We have had a war close to our border for almost a year and the keeping of peace and citizens’ security remains one of our basic priorities. However, as the Speaker of Parliament, I propose setting the legislature’s priorities for 2023. This year we aim to ensure economic growth. We will support those who work and contribute to the budget – entrepreneurs, salary earners, young people and families,” said Igor Grosu.
According to him, the development of Moldova’s villages and towns, with the national program “European Village” that was launched last spring already yielding results, and the European integration as a country project are also among the priorities.
“We need swift action to fight corruption, which remains a priority of the government. The people seek justice. They want to see the thieves and all those who break the law in jail. The people want the law to rule in Moldova. We therefore need to continue our efforts to ensure no one is above the law,” noted the Speaker.
