New type of leave to be introduced

Employees will be able to take unpaid leave of five working days in a calendar year to care for a person who is part of the same household. The Cabinet approved a draft law to supplement the Labor Code with relevant provisions, IPN reports.

The bill also contains provisions aimed at reducing the phenomenon of child labor. These define light work and clearly stipulate that individuals at the age of 15 can be employed only for doing such work, under specific conditions set down by Government. Also, the draft law provides sanctions for use of child labor in the informal sector. The law is supplemented with norms providing for harsher penalties for the use of the undeclared weir of multiple victims.

The bill promotes norms to improve shift work organization processes and to provide greater opportunities for work and ensure regulatory flexibility in work for pregnant women, women who recently gave birth and those who are breastfeeding.
