PAS MP Radu Marian said Gazprom’s announcement of the reduction of gas supplies to Moldova represents an energy blockage by the Kremlin against the Republic of Moldova. “As the secretary of state on energy Constantin Borosan informed, Gazporm in December 2022 will supply by 56.5% less gas than the amount stipulated in the contract,” said the MP, being quoted by IPN.
Radu Marian stated that this will also impede the production of electricity for Moldova at the Kuchurgan power plant. “This is a follow-up to the hybrid war planned by the Kremlin with the assistance of the group of stealing and war led by Shor, Dodon & Co against the citizens of our country. The Government braced for such a scenario and we have sufficient alternative fuel and natural gas stores. It will be hard, but we will come out of the approaching winter much stronger,” noted the MP.
Gazprom said that a part of the natural gas it supplies to the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the contract signed with SA Moldovagaz remains in Ukraine. The Russian company said that if an imbalance in the transit of gas via Ukraine for Moldovan consumers is maintained, on November 28 it will start to reduce the amount of gas supplied to the Sudja gas metering station. In a press release, the company noted that Ukraine so far stored 52.52 million cubic meters of the gas intended for Moldovan consumers.
