Motion of no confidence on ministerial economic policies. BCS invites Alaiba

The group of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) on Thursday submitted a motion of no confidence on the policies implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. It is the third motion proposed by the BCS in the recent past. The first two motions targeted the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Research. The agenda of Thursday’s sitting of Parliament includes the motion on the Ministry of Health’s policies, which was submitted by the BCS on February 13, IPN reports.

Socialist MP Petru Burduja said that the motion was submitted because the proposal to invite Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, to hearings in Parliament was not supported. According to him, "the current economic and social crisis in the Republic of Moldova is the result of incompetence and mismanagement of economic processes in the country."

Petru Burduja, who presented the motion, invoked "the failure to develop, implement and monitor economic policies". He also accused the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of mismanagement and lack of concrete actions to overcome the economic challenges.

The motion of no confidence can be initiated by at least 15 MPs. It shall be submitted to the chair of the sitting, in the plenary session of Parliament. After receiving the motion, the chair of the sitting informs the legislature about it and the Standing Bureau sets the date of the debate, which is held within 14 working days of the submission of the motion.
